Tuesday 30th April

Walters Lane Pit - Single Ruff. Chainbridge Wood NR - Single Sparrowhawk, 2 Treecreeper feeding and a Buzzard over. Chainbridge NR Scrape - Single immature female Marsh Harrier here at 8:30am plus two Cuckoo in same small Hawthorn bush showing well. Hawthorn Lane - Two Jays. Tiln North (Restoration Area) - Single male WHINCHAT (PCo,IC) at 9:00am and was still showing well at 15:30pm (DM, VM, ABr, PBr, KW, IH, PCa), up to 9 Wheatear, 2 Ringed Plover, 1 Redshank and 1 Little Ringed Plover. Cross Lane Marsh - Single Cuckoo. Cross Lane - Pair of Bullfinch and 1 Lesser Whitethroat. The Willows (N) - Single Kestrel. Neatholme Lane - Up to 3 Lesser Whitethroat and Garden Warbler plus 2 Bullfinch. Neatholme Scrape - Up to 10 Swift noted plus male Pntail and 6 Goldeneye (including 3 males). Neatholme Pit - Single Cuckoo. Neatholme Fen - Single Lesser Whitethroat and Cuckoo. Blaco - Two male WHINCHAT (MWa,IH,PCa) flycatching from reeds plus 1 Common Sandpiper and 1 Lesser Whitethroat. Wildgoose Farm - Two Buzzard. Windsurf Pool - Up to 5 male Red-crested Pochard. Bellmoor Lake - Single Common Tern. Monday 29th April

Lound (Horse Paddocks) - Single Oystercatcher in field with 2 Mistle Thrush. Parish Park - Single Cuckoo calling plus 2 Jays. Linghurst Wood - Single singing Lesser Whitethroat and Treecreeper. Cross Lane Fishery - Single Lesser Whitethroat singing. Tarmac Works - Two Little Ringed Plover and 4 Shelduck on pools. Walters Lane Pit - Single Sparrowhawk and Oystercatcher. Chainbridge Pit - Single Reed Warbler and Sedge Warbler both singing, 15 Swifts and 10 House Martins. Tiln North (Restoration Area) - Up to 9 Wheatear (7 males) feeding around pit plus up to 3 Little Ringed Plover, 4 Oystercatcher, single Redshank and 6 Shelduck. Cross Lane Marsh - Single Cuckoo, c20 Swift and 1 House Martin. Clayworth Common - Two Hobby over hear heading towards Cross Lane Marsh. Mattersey Common - Pair of Wheatear and 8 Yellow Wagtails feeding. Wildgoose Farm - Single Buzzard. Neatholme Fen - c60 Swift noted over here at 15:30pm. Single Common Tern over at 13:00. Bellmoor Lake - Single Common Tern noted. Water Ski Pit - Single Lesser Whitethroat and Garden Warbler singing. Sunday 28th April.

Bittern Pools - Single Reed Warbler singing. Neatholme Scrape - Single male Pintail, 6 Goldeneye still plus single Wheatear on River bank. The Willows (N) - 3 Wheatear, 2 Yellow Wagtail and 4 Yellowhammer. Hallcroft Fishery - Single Sparrowhawk over. Bellmoor Lake - Single Common Tern, 3 Lesser Redpoll, 40 Swallow and 2 House Martin.  Chainbridge NR Scrape (East) - 20 Swift feeding. Tiln Fishery - 200+ Sand Martin and 80 Swallow. Tiln Pits - Singles of Kingfisher, Song Thrush and Buzzard. Windsurf Pool - 3 male Red-crested Pochard. Neatholme Fen - Single Cuckoo. Tiln North (Restoration Area) - 3 Whimbrel, 2 Oystercatcher, single Wheatear and 3 Yellow wagtail.  (M.Warne, I.Hunt, I.Cowgill. M.Fitzsimmons, D.Evans).

Saturday 27th April.

Chainbridge Pit - 2 Grasshopper Warblers and a single WHINCHAT, there was a Hobby hawking insects over the Willows to the West of the Pit for an hour from 19:30pm and a single Cuckoo calling. Neatholme Scrape - Single 1st-summer Kittiwake flew onto Scrape at 08:55am, then flew towards Chainbridge Scrape. In the afternoon (DM) noted another (or the same) Kittiwake that flew around the Scrape but was immediately harassed by Black-headed Gulls, it eventually flew North. Also here, 5 Goldeneye still present. Clayworth Common (Conservation Lake) - Two Redshank. Tiln North (Restoration Area) - 2 male and a single female Wheatear, 3 Yellow Wagtail, 3 Buzzard and 2 Ringed Plover. Neatholme Pit - A flock of 20 Swift. Hayton Common - Single Whimbrel, Little Owl in tree 20:30pm. Bellmoor Lake - 2 Common Tern feeding. Chainbridge NR Scrape (East) - Single Reed Warbler singing. Friday 26th April

Tiln North (Restoration Area) - Three Wheatear, 1 Ruff, 1 Redshank, 2 Ringed Plover, 4 Little Ringed Plover, up to 7 Dunlin, 6 Yellow Wagtail, 3 White Wagtail and 3 Buzzard. Chainbridge Lane - Two Reed Warbler singing in ditch by Short Rotation Coppice. Water Ski Pit - Up to 5 Swift feeding over here plus 1 Lesser Whitethroat singing and 1 Sedge Warbler in brambles. Cross Lane Fishery - Single Lesser Whitethroat singing. Chainbridge NR Scrape (East) - Single Lesser Whitethroat singing here. Neatholme Lane - Single Turtle Dove (157) noted on lane this morning. Neatholme Pit - Single female Sparrowhawk over. Neatholme Fen - Two Yellow-legged Gulls noted here day roosting. Blaco - Pair of Red-crested Pochard. Neatholme Scrape - Single Common Tern, 1 male Pintail, a pair of Red-crested Pochard and 1 Green Woodpecker. Walters Lane Pit - Single Ruff and 2 Ringed Plover. Windsurf Pool - Three Red-crested Pochard. Bellmoor Lake - c100 Tufted Duck, 8 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 2 Oystercatcher, 2 Shelduck, 2 Sedge Warbler 8 Swift north at 9:30am and 4 Whitethroat along the southern edge. River Idle (Bellmoor) - Single Garden Warbler, 2 Lesser Whitethroat, 1 Sparrowhawk and 1 Skylark. Bellmoor Ponds - Two Buzzard over. Tiln Fishery - Single Green Woodpecker and 26 Tufted Duck. Thursday 25th April 

Tiln North (Restoration Area) - A total of 6 Whimbrel and a single Curlew flew over North, 3 Wheatear (2 male and a female) and 4 White Wagtail on main island. Clayworth Common - Two Wheatear on spoil heaps. Chainbridge Pit - Single Swift over. Walters Lane Pit - Single Dunlin and Curlew present. Bellmoor Lake - Single Arctic Tern plus 2 Common Tern and a Kingfisher this morning. (I.Hunt, D.Housman, B.Hurst, I.Cowgill, D.Mannifield)

Please Note - A probable Harris Hawk with jesses was over Tiln for 5 minutes at 10:45am. (I.Cowgill)


Wednesday 24th April

Tiln North (Restoration Area) - Early morning, 6 summer plumage Dunlin, 5 Little Ringed Plover, 2 Ringed Plover, 2 Red-crested Pochard, 6 Wheatear, 5 Yellow Wagtail and 1 Oystercatcher plus single Cuckoo calling from North of Scrape. Chainbridge Pit - Single Cuckoo calling and Grasshopper Warbler reeling early morning. Clayworth Common (Conservation Lake) - Single Common Sandpiper in flight low over water plus 2 Oystercatcher. Neatholme Scrape - Single Cuckoo flying East over Scrape calling, 2 Red-crested Pochard, 2 female Goldeneye, single Lesser Whitethroat and single WHINCHAT noted on fence post on eastern edge. Neatholme Pit - Probable female LONG TAILED DUCK (IC,PCa) still present feeding in centre of Pit plus up to 5 Goldeneye. Neatholme Fen - Two Swifts (155) flew over West, single Common Sandpiper and a single Lesser Whitethroat. Walters Lane Pit - 5 Summer plumage Dunlin, 2 Shelduck, 2 Teal and 3 Little Ringed Plover. Bellmoor Lake - Single Common Tern (156) feeding over Lake at 12:00pm plus 3 Oystercatcher. Bunker Wood - Single Lesser Whitethroat. The Willows (N) - Single Lesser Whitethroat. Tiln Fishery - Single Common Tern in flight around 11:20am and 2 Wigeon. Tiln Pits - 2 Cuckoo calling. Chainbridge NR Scrape (East) - Report of OSPREY (GF), no further details. Windsurf Pool - 3 Red-crested Pochard. Cross Lane Marsh - Single Sedge Warbler (P.Cadman, I.Cowgill, M.Fitzsimmons, D.Housman, D.Mannifield, D.Evans, G.Foster, K.Wilson) 


 Tuesday 23rd April

Bellmoor Lake - Single Arctic Tern 10:40am to 11:10am at least and 4 Buzzard. Hallcroft Sewage Works - 2 Lesser Redpoll. Clayworth Common (Conservation Lake) - The 3 adult Whooper Swans, 3 Little Ringed Plover, 2 Oystercatcher and 3 Redshank. Neatholme Scrape - Single reeling Grasshopper Warbler at North East corner, single singing Lesser Whitethroat, 2 House Martin, 1 male Pintail, 4 Goldeneye and single Redshank. Neatholme Fen - 3rd Winter Yellow-legged Gull. Sandy Hills - 5 Lesser Redpoll in larch trees. Clayworth Common - Single WHINCHAT again on Spoil Heaps till 11:00am at least, 3 adult Whooper Swan, 2 Grey Partridge and 2 Buzzard. Also here, a single COMMON CRANE (PCo) initially flew North West at 10:30am over towards Chainbridge Scrape, it was then observed by (PCa, IH), heading North West over the Parish Park towards Lound village where it was observed by (MWa). It was then observed by (IC) as it headed East over the Water Ski Pit around 10:45am, Ian then observed the bird again around Blaco Pits at 11:00am. There was another report of a single bird in a ploughed field at Hayton Common around 11:00am. Horse Paddocks (Lound) - Single Cuckoo calling and a single Mistle Thrush. Chainbridge NR Scrape (East) - 2 Sparrowhawk displaying, 3 Yellow Wagtail, 3 Dunlin in flight and a single Reed Warbler singing. Chainbridge Wood NR - Single Curlew and single Hobby over, 2 Bullfinch, Treecreeper and Jay. Walters Lane Pit - Single Little Ringed Plover. Monday 22nd April

Clayworth Common - Single male WHINCHAT still present around grassy area on north side of spoil heaps at 06:15am, also noted here was a single male Wheatear. Tiln North (Restoration Area) - Single Wheatear on North east end of Scrape. Neatholme Scrape - Single Grasshopper Warbler singing from South East edge of Neatholme Scrape near River Idle. Clayworth Common (Conservation Lake) - The 3 adult Whooper Swans still and 3 Little Ringed Plover.  Chainbridge Wood NR - 2 Bullfinch. Neatholme Pit - Single Garden Warbler and imm/female LONG TAILED DUCK (PF,IC,PCa,MWa) still present. Horse Paddocks (Lound) - Single Mistle Thrush. Sunday 21st April

Neatholme Pit - Single Garden Warbler (152) noted along lane between here and Water Ski Pit at 9:40am. Water Ski Pit - Single Garden Warbler singing in hedgerow opposite Neatholme Fen screen. Neatholme Fen - Single Lesser Whitethroat (153) in hedgerow opposite Cross Lane/Neatholme junction plus 1 Snipe over fen. Neatholme Scrape - Single Grasshopper Warbler (151) 'reeling' from area nearby at 9:40am plus 1 Arctic Tern early morning and a single Lesser Whitethroat in scrub on Eastern edge of Scrape. The Willows - Single Sedge Warbler and Whitethroat noted. Cross Lane Marsh - Single Redshank calling. Clayworth Common - Single male WHINCHAT (150) (IC) was noted on spoil heaps at 6:30am, was still present here at 10:15am and still present 15:20pm at least, but now on fence line on Clayworth Common a couple of hundred yards north of soil heap area. Also here were, 2 Wheatears. Clayworth Common (Conservation Lake) - Singles of Redshank and Common Sandpiper and 3 Whooper Swans. Tiln North (Restoration Area) - Four Whimbrel noted at southern end at 7:45am today, single Redshank, 4 Little Ringed Plover, 2 Ringed Plover, single Wheatear at South end, 2 noted at Northern end, plus 1 Cuckoo calling. Chainbridge Pit - A single Jay with small numbers of Blackcap and Whitethroat singing from Scrub here plus single Goldeneye and Shoveler on Pit. Walters Lane Pit - 10 Shelduck. Saturday 20th April

Highlights in the fine weather today being 'raptors' with a single Osprey and Marsh Harrier plus a minimum of 15 Buzzard in the air at same time today plus several Kestrel and Sparrowhawk sightings.

Neatholme Fen - Single OSPREY (149) (IC,DHu) at 9:00am, flew in from South over Wildgoose Farm then noted drifting slowly high SW over here, Linghurst Wood and Lound village for next 10 minutes, plus up to 6 Buzzard and 4 Goldeneye. Neatholme Lane - Single Cuckoo heard calling. Blaco - Up to 4 Buzzard around area plus 2 Little Owls again in usual area. Neatholme Scrape - Single imm/female Marsh Harrier noted here at 8:45am then again at 16:00pm, also here 21 Whooper Swans briefly early am then flew off north, 4 Goldeneye, 1 male Pintail, several Yellow Wagtails over, 1 Jay over, 1 Reed Bunting and 2 Whitethroat around adjoining riverbanks. Neatholme Pit - Three Green Woodpecker, 3 Blackcap, 2 Oystercatcher and Blue Tits entering a nesting box. Clayworth Common (Conservation Lake) - Three adult Whooper Swans still present mid morning plus 1 Little Ringed Plover, 1 Redshank, 2 Oystercatcher and 1 Jay. Clayworth Common - Up to 4 Wheatear on spoil heaps early morning, 30 Golden Plover at 11:45am, 3 Kestrel and c15 Linnet. Clayworth/Hayton Road - Up to 5 Wheatear in roadside fields near to rough track leading NW onto common. Tiln North (Restoration Area) - Single Cuckoo heard calling at 6:00am with one bird heard along the river here for most of the day, also here 1 Wheatear, a pair of Red-crested Pochard, 1 Whimbrel at 11:00am calling, 2 White Wagtail, c10 Yellow Wagtails, c10 Swallows, c10 Sand Martin, 2 Redshank and 2 Little Ringed Plover. Tiln Pits - Two Snipe. River Idle (Chainbridge area) - Two Kingfisher, 2 Sedge Warbler and 3 Whitethroat in riverside scrub and brambles. Chainbridge Lane - Single Reed Bunting along dyke. Chainbridge Pit - Single Cuckoo (same as Tiln North bird) noted here throughout the day plus, 2 Redshank over, 2 Whitethroat and 3 Blackcap in scrub around edges plus single Dunnock and Reed Bunting. Chainbridge Meadows/Short Rotation Crop - Single imm/female Marsh Harrier noted hunting here from 7:30am and again at 8:30am heading north and over Chainbridge Wood NR towards Cross Lane area. Also here, 2 Whitethroat, 1 Chiffchaff and many Willow Warbler. Chainbridge Wood NR - Single (different) Cuckoo here at 13:15pm, pair of Sparrowhawk circling wood, 1 Green Woodpecker, 2 Treecreeper, 2 Bullfinch, 3 Long-tailed Tit, 7 Willow Warbler, 1 Jay, 4 Blackcap and 3 Chiffchaff. Chainbridge NR Scrape (East) - Single Reed Warbler calling and 1 Yellow Wagtail in tree top. Windsurf Pool - Three Red-crested Pochard. Walters Lane Pit - Single moulting 'white' male Ruff still and 1 Redshank with two Ringed Plover late afternoon plus 15 Shelduck, 6 Teal and 5 Sand Martin. Friday 19th April

Another 'Red-letter' day for local birders with Common Crane, Spoonbill, Kittiwake, up to 8 Wheatear and numerous Arctic Terns......who's getting up early tomorrow?

Tiln - Two COMMON CRANES (DM,GF,MF) circling over Tiln Wood with crows before pitching down in this general area at 8:00pm this evening. Neatholme Fen - Single fourth-summer (5cy) Yellow-legged Gull, 1 male Red-crested Pochard flew over plus 2 female Goldeneye still. Neatholme Pit - Single Sedge Warbler singing in NE corner plus 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 male Pintail and 3 Goldeneye still. Neatholme Scrape - Single adult Kittiwake present here from 7:00am until 9:15am at least plus male Pintail, 4 Goldeneye, a single first-summer SPOONBILL (147) (PCa,DHo,HS) flew north along eastern edge of scrape and out of sight heading towards Gringley village at 12:55pm and a male Marsh Harrier here at 7:15pm. Neatholme Lane - Single Cuckoo (148) calling at 13:10pm today. The Willows - Single Whitethroat, a pair of Bullfinch and 1 Sparrowhawk. Cross Lane Marsh - Single Sedge Warbler and Whitethroat early morning. Clayworth Common - Single male Wheatear on riverside track just North of Cross Lane plus 34 Golden Plover and a Barn Owl hunting late morning. Clayworth Common (Conservation Lake) - Three adult Whooper Swans still plus 6 Wheatear on spoil heaps late morning. Hayton Common - Single Cuckoo calling at 15:30pm distantly. Tiln North (Restoration Area) - Two Arctic Tern briefly heading north at dawn, 2 Common Sandpiper today, 1 Wheatear, 50+ Yellow Wagtails including 2+ 'Blue-headed' birds, 22 White Wagtails, 20 Meadow Pipits, a pair of Red-crested Pochard, 1 Sparowhawk and 2 Curlew. Chainbridge Pit - Single Peregrine on thermal over here at 13:15pm. Chainbridge NR Scrape (West) - Single Reed Warbler (146) singing in reed bed in NW corner. Chainbridge NR Scrape (East) - a huge flock of hirundines numbering c2,000 birds (mainly Sand Martins with small numbers of Swallows) fed over here before heading north again at dusk. Walters Lane Pit - Up to 14 Shelduck, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 1 Ringed Plover, 1 Redshank and 1 Ruff. Bellmoor Lake - Three Arctic Tern present at 9:00am with single still present at 12:30pm. Thursday 18th April

Clayworth Common (Conservation Lake) - Single Redshank and up to 4 Wheatear noted on nearby spoil heaps today. Clayworth Common - Single Sparrowhawk. Tiln North (Restoration Area) - Single male Wheatear by riverbank track, up to 55 Yellow Wagtails (c30 still late evening), c20 Pied/White Wagtails, c300 Sand Martin, c100 Swallows, 2 Ringed Plovers, 2 Redshank, 4 Shelduck and 2 Shoveler. Chainbridge NR Scrape (East) - Two Ruff including a new moulting 'white ruffed' bird which flew west at 18:00pm, 2 Redshank and a pair of Pochard. Chainbridge Lane - Single immature Sparrowhawk observed crashing into then recovered injured from bramble scrub and taken into care. Chainbridge Wood NR - Single Nuthatch (145) calling, 2 Willow Warblers, 1 Chiffchaff and 1 Blackcap. Walters Lane Pit - Single Ruff and 14 Shelduck. Boat Inn Fishery (Walters Lane) - Pair of Greylag Geese with four freshly hatched gosling's this evening. Doughty's Pit - Pair of Red-crested Pochard, 1 female Kestrel, c400 Sand Martin, c10 Swallows and 1 House Martin. Bellmoor Lake - Up to 4 'Comic' Terns (very likely to have Arctic Terns as they had very long tail streamers) were noted here late evening feeding distantly around the small island, also here 1 Common Sandpiper, c50 Sand Martin and 10+ Lesser Black-backed Gulls. Wednesday 17th April

Walters Lane Pit - Single Ruff and Redshank present. Tiln North (Restoration Area) - Single Curlew, 2 Whimbrel (144) flew into here from fields east of scrape at 12:00pm and were still roosting here at 16:45pm, 1 male Wheatear was feeding at southern end of scrape, 4 Redshank, 1 Little Ringed Plover and 6 Yellow Wagtail. Chainbridge Bridge - Single 'probable' Grey Plover called once as it passed over at 10:55am. Clayworth Common (Conservation Lake) - Single Common Sandpiper still present at 16:15pm and 2 Little Ringed Plover. Clayworth Common - Two Wheatear including single on Chainbridge Lane track near spoil heaps and 1 just north of the end of Cross Lane track.  Chainbridge Pit - Two Whimbrel here from 10.40am with a single also noted from here today. Neatholme Pit - Two Goldeneye and a pair of Red-crested Pochard. Neatholme Fen - Three Goldeneye. Neatholme Scrape - Three Goldeneye and 3 Red-crested Pochard. Tuesday 16th April

Neatholme Scrape - Two Arctic Tern noted here at 9:10am and were still present at 12:23pm, a Kittiwake was present at 9:55am and a male Marsh Harrier flew over here at 13:40pm plus 1 Little Egret and 3 Yellow Wagtail. Neatholme Pit - Single Whitethroat (143) noted 50 yards from the bridge at 13:00pm also female/imm LONG-TAILED DUCK (DRo) still present and 1 House Martin. Wildgoose Farm - Two House Martin and 1 Tree Sparrow noted here. Blaco - Single male Wheatear and 2 Grey Partridge. Cross Lane - Single Hobby (142) hunting over here at 11:35am plus Sedge Warbler again. Clayworth Common (Conservation Lake) - Three Whooper Swans resting here again today. Clayworth Common - Two Buzzard. Tiln North (Restoration Area) - Three Yellow Wagtail noted with 4 White Wagtail and 1 Ringed Plover. Chainbridge Wood NR - Single MARSH TIT was reported as singing here today although a single Willow Tit was also present at the same time. Walters Lane Pit - Single Ruff still present. Cross Lane - Single Sedge Warbler (140) noted. Neatholme Pit - Single female/imm LONG-TAILED DUCK (TT,KW) still present plus 2 Goldeneye. Clayworth Common (Conservation Lake) - Three adult Whooper Swans still. Clayworth Common - Three adult Whooper Swans resting here, 1 Little Egret in dyke and 18 Golden Plover. Tiln North (Restoration Area) - Three Dunlin, 2 Ringed Plover, up to 7 Little Ringed Plover, 3 Redshank, a pair of Wheatear on eastern edge, up to 20 Yellow Wagtail, up to 9 White Wagtail present this evening. Chainbridge NR Scrape (East) - Single Little Gull still present plus female Sparrowhawk sat on prey, a pair of Red-crested Pochard and Willow Warbler singing by viewpoint track. Chainbridge Wood NR - Two Willow Warbler, 2 Chiffchaff, 2 Blackcap, 1 Green Woodpecker and a Meadow Pipit near the gate. Chainbridge Pit - Eight Goosander. Another single Ruddy Shelduck has been seen again in fields behind The Willows and two further birds, believed to be from the Wetlands Animal Park were photographed together on Walters Lane outside the Park this weekend. We may need to downgrade the site year list total by one species!

Tiln North (Restoration Area) - Single female Wheatear was present at least up to 10:30am, also noted here were a small flock of 30+ Linnet, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 1 Ringed Plover, 3 Redshank, 1 Kestrel and up to 3 White Wagtail. Clayworth Common (Conservation Lake) - Three Whooper Swans late afternoon with c30 Wigeon. Chainbridge Pit - Single Little Gull noted again today. Chainbridge Wood NR - singing Blackcap and Chiffchaff 50+ Pink-Footed Geese over South. Neatholme Pit - Single female/imm LONG-TAILED DUCK (PCa,IH,GH) still present, feeding in the centre of the pit, 5+ Goldeneye and 2 singing Willow Warbler. Neatholme Fen - Single Little Egret, single Blackcap and two Willow Warbler. Neatholme Scrape - Three Black-tailed Godwit flew north from here at 18:35pm, also here today, single Yellow Wagtail, 4 Goldeneye, 10 Swallow, 20+ Sand Martin and 1 Reshank. Three new additions to the year list (136-137-138) with a pair of Common Scoter,  a small number of Yellow Wagtails at Tiln North and four Arctic Terns at Bellmoor Lake.  

Lound (Horse Paddocks) - c30 Redwing and 2 Fieldfare. Wildgoose Farm - 7 Swallows and a Sand Martin. Neatholme Fen - Singles of Little Egret and Snipe. Neatholme Scrape - Single male Pintail, 4 Swallows and a Sand Martin. Neatholme Pit - Single imm/female LONG-TAILED DUCK (PCo,RSt) still present. Clayworth Common - c130 Golden Plover near The Willows plus 1 Red-legged Partridge. Tiln North (Restoration Area) - Single male Wheatear still present today, 5+ Yellow Wagtail associating with up to 8 White Wagtail, 4 Dunlin initially  at 14:30pm with 5 birds present from 17:00pm, 3 Little Ringed Plover, 2 Ringed Plover, 1 Curlew, 3 Redshank, c60-100 Golden Plover over here during the day, 6 Grey Partridge, 2 Meadow Pipit and single Willow Warbler in song along River Idle. Chainbridge Wood NR - Pair of Treecreeper present. Chainbridge Pit - A pair of Common Scoter resting here from 10:30am and still present at dusk plus 1 adult winter Little Gull from 16:30pm  until dusk feeding with Black-headed Gulls, 2 Redshank, 1 Little Ringed Plover and 1 Willow Warbler. Walters Lane Pit - Two Redshank, 6 Shelduck and 1 Common Gull. River Idle - Single Willow Warbler and Chiffchaff plus 5+ Swallows over Chainbridge Bridge area early evening. Thursday 11th April

Two new additions to the site year list (134-135) with a male Wheatear noted at Tiln North and a single House Martin over Bellmoor Lake. A good number of Sand Martins have now arrived along with a few Swallows and a Willow Warbler.

Neatholme Pit - Single imm/female LONG-TAILED DUCK (MWa) still present with c100 Sand Martin and 4 Swallows over here at 15:30pm. Neatholme Scrape - Single Swallow early afternoon. Tiln North (Restoration Area) - Single male Wheatear, amazingly the first for the year, was found perching on posts in NE corner at 10:45am and was still present at 16:00pm at least. Also hers, 3 Ringed Plover and 2 Redshank. Chainbridge Pit - Single Willow Warbler singing mid morning. Chainbridge NR Scrape (East) - Single Snipe and 2 Oystercatcher plus 12 Sand Martin and 1 Sparowhawk early afternoon. A new addition to the site year list (133) when a RUDDY SHELDUCK appeared on Chainbridge Scrape late this afternoon. A total of 11 Chiffchaff today.

There were two new additions to the site year list (130-131) when a single Knot and two Sanderling were noted on Tiln North.

Tiln North (Restoration Area) - A pager report alerted Des Roberts to the fact that there were two Sanderling and a single Knot reported on the wader Scrape viewed from 12:45pm-14:45pm,  also noted were 4 Oystercatcher and singles of Ringed Plover and Little Ringed Plover.  Lound (Horse Paddocks) - 40 Redwing, 7 Fieldfare with singles of Sparrowhawk, Pied Wagtail and Bullfinch. Blaco Pits (South) - Single Buzzard. Chainbridge NR Scrape (East) - Single male Marsh Harrier was noted hunting, it then drifted North East over Cross Lane Marsh, also noted were 4 Snipe. Neatholme Pit - The imm/female LONG-TAILED DUCK (DM,VM,IH,MWa) still present and showing well, Little Grebe also observed. A new addition to the site year list (128) was the Willow Warbler noted at Hallcroft Sewage Works this afternoon. 

Tiln - Two RAVEN (IC) over this area at 7:50am today. Hallcroft Sewage Works - Up to three COMMON REDPOLL (DHo,IH,MWa),  up to  7 Brambling  in finch flock, with 5 Reed Bunting, 4 Lesser Redpoll,  1 Willow Warbler, 1 Chiffchaff, 6 Greenfinch 2 Goldcrest and 2 Oystercatcher, were all noted here this morning up to 11:00am. Chainbridge Lane - Single male Marsh Harrier flew north over here and along western edge of Chainbridge Scrape. Walters Lane Pit - 2 Redshank.
