Thursday 28th February
 
Neatholme Fen - Single third-winter ICELAND GULL (PCa,IH,DRo,MGo) flew over fen towards Linghurst Pool at 17:15pm, also 1 Little Egret and 1 Oystercatcher. Neatholme Scrape - Single third-winter ICELAND GULL (IC) re-located here at 17:45pm and remained until at least 18:10pm. Walters Lane Pit - Four Oystercatcher and 1 RUFF present. Neatholme Fen - Single third-winter ICELAND GULL (SD et al) in roost again tonight. (S.Davenport)
 

Tuesday 26th February 
 
This Iceland Gull has also been seen at nearby Gainborough Landfill and adjacent Lea Marsh since Monday 25th, leaving this location with other gulls heading west towards Lound.

Water Ski Pit - Up to 19 Red-crested Pochard. Neatholme Pit - Single imm/female LONG-TAILED DUCK (MWa, PCa,IH,BH,KW) still in SW corner and 2 Oystercatcher. Blaco - A single SHORT-EARED OWL hunting low over field before perching briefly on post, plus 2 Buzzard. Lound (Horse Paddocks) - Two Mistle Thrush plus 50 Redwing and 50 Fieldfare. Tiln North (Restoration Area) - Two Oystercatcher feeding and 40 Golden Plover over. Clayworth Common - A total of 20 Whooper Swans present. Lound Sewage Works -  Single Chiffchaff and Grey Wagtail on Filter Beds. Neatholme Fen - Two Oystercatcher. Wildgoose Farm - Two Tawny Owls. Clayworth Common -  Two sightings of JACK SNIPE (IC) on the flooded area at the South end of the Common, also 20 Whooper Swans present. Neatholme Scrape - Single Snipe on 'Pig Island'. Bellmoor Lake - Two Oystercatchers, 1 Grey Heron, 6 Gadwall, 6 Canada Geese, 4 Goosander, 10 Tufted Ducks and 1 Teal.

Lound Sewage Works - The 'pale looking' probable 'Siberian' Chiffchaff Phylloscopus c. tristis noted again plus 1 Chiffchaff, 1 Grey Wagtail, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker and 2 Pied Wagtails. Linghurst Wood - Single Treecreeper, 150+ Redwings in tree tops, 4 Goldcrest and 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker. Parish Park - Up to 7 Red-crested Pochard. Chainbridge NR Scrape (East) - Two Oystercatcher and 6 Goosander. Walters Lane Pit - Four Oystercatcher. Sheep Fields (Low Level) - Two Oystercatcher and 1 Green Woodpecker. Lound (Horse Paddocks) - Single Mistle Thrush plus 50 Redwing and 50 Fieldfare. Lound Sewage Works - Single Grey Wagtail, 1 Chiffchaff and 1 Pied Wagtail. First Redshank sighting for the year and single Mediterranean Gull roosting again on Neatholme Scrape.
 
Neatholme Scrape - Single MEDITERRANEAN GULL (IC) again late afternoon (last seen on 8th Feb), 18 Redshank 1 Oystercatcher, 2 Shelduck and 1 Green Sandpiper. Neatholme Fen - Two Shelduck. Neatholme Pit - Single imm/female LONG-TAILED DUCK (CNe) still present, 2 Oystercatcher and 5 Great Crested Grebe. Chainbridge Pit - Two SHORT-EARED OWLS (CNe) again and 2 Oystercatcher. Walters Lane - Single female BRAMBLING (IC,PCa,IH,PB,AB,KW) with Chaffinch flock near Mucky Pond area. Sheep Fields (Low Level) - Single MERLIN (PCa) flew along dyke chasing finches and thrushes. Monday 18th February
 
One lucky observer saw a Red Kite drift over the site late afternoon plus Long-tailed Duck still present.
 
Chainbridge Pit - Two Oystercatcher. Mattersey Common - Two Snipe with Lapwings on flood. Neatholme Fen - Single RED KITE (PCa) drifted slowly NE over here at 15:45pm plus 2 Oystercatcher. Neatholme Pit - Single imm/female LONG-TAILED DUCK (PCa) still present plus Tawny Owl nearby. Wildgoose Farm - Two Tawny Owls noted. Parish Park - Two Red-crested Pochard and 1 Goldcrest. Neatholme Fen - A total of 17 Goldeneye (inc 10 females) displaying plus 2 Oystercatcher over. Neatholme Pit - Single imm/female LONG-TAILED DUCK (MWa) still present. Sheep Fields (Low Level) - Six Golden Plover and 20 Fieldfare. Walters Lane - Three Mistle Thrush and 1 Fieldfare in field by Wetlands Animal Park. Lound (Horse Paddocks) - c50 Redwing and 10 Fieldfare. Sandy Hills - Single Coal Tit in hedgerow. Water Ski Pit - Pair of Bullfinch in hedgerow. (M.Warne)

Lound Sewage Works - The 'pale looking' probable 'Siberian' Chiffchaff Phylloscopus c. tristis noted again, 1 Chiffchaff and 2 Pied Wagtails. Linghurst Wood - a mixed flock of c30 Siskin, Redpoll and Goldfinch. Wildgoose Farm - Two Tawny Owl in usual tree and 2 Jays. Water Ski Pit - Single Goldcrest in Tit flock. Neatholme Lane - a pair of Bullfinch, 6 Redwing, 2 Fieldfare and Tawny Owl again. Neatholme Pit - Single imm/female LONG-TAILED DUCK (PCa,IH,DP) still present and WATER RAIL calling from island again. Little Grebe. Neatholme Fen - Two Oystercatcher and 1 Snipe sat of fencing. Mattersey Common - Four Stock Dove on floods. Neatholme Scrape - Two male Pintail and 1 RUFF in flight with Lapwings. Water Ski Pit - Single Oystercatcher over. Monday 11th February
 
Watching the gull roost has paid off with a first-winter Glaucous Gull sighting.
 
Chainbridge Wood NR - Single Treecreeper. Neatholme Scrape - Single first-winter GLAUCOUS GULL (IC) at 16:45pm until at least 17:10pm with large gull roost including many thousand Black-headed and Common Gulls. Neatholme Pit - Single Tawny Owl in roost. Wildgoose Farm - Two Tawny Owls in usual area. (P.Cadman, I.Cowgill)

Neatholme Scrape - Single MEDITERRANEAN GULL (IC) noted again. Lound Sewage Works - The 'pale looking' probable 'Siberian' Chiffchaff Phylloscopus c. tristis again feeding on filter beds, also 1 Grey Wagtail and 1 Coal Tit calling in plantation. Parish Park - Two Mistle Thrush, 1 Goldcrest and 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker. Linghurst Wood - Twenty Siskin, 10 Redpoll, 1 Goldcrest and 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker. Wildgoose Farm - Single Green Woodpecker, 1 Red-legged Partridge and 2 Tawny Owls again. Blaco - Single Little Owl, 1 Buzzard, 1 Skylark, 1 Jay and 2 Grey Partridge. Tiln North (Restoration Area) - Up to 3 SHORT-EARED OWL (DM) noted again today, also 1 PEREGRINE (DM) hunting 'passerines' and 2 Goldeneye on scrape. Chainbridge Pit - Two Buzzard over and 4 Reed Bunting in NE corner reedbed. Chainbridge Lane - Single Bullfinch and Green Woodpecker. Clayworth Common - Up to 34 Whooper Swans noted today near The Willows plus 1 Barn Owl. Neatholme Scrape - Single MEDITERRANEAN GULL (PCa,IH) present at 15:15pm, 4 Pintail (inc 3 males) and 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker. Neatholme Pit - Single imm/female LONG-TAILED DUCK (PCa,IH,IC) still present and up to 4 Goldeneye. Neatholme Fen - Three Pink-footed Geese, 4 Goldeneye, 1 Sparowhawk over, 1 Green Woodpecker and 1 Redwing. Parish Park - Single Great Spotted Woodpecker and 5 Long-tailed Tit. Lound Sewage Works - The 'pale looking' probable 'Siberian' Chiffchaff Phylloscopus c. tristis again feeding on filter beds, also 1 Grey Wagtail, 2 Wren, 2 Goldcrest and 3 Pied Wagtail. Wednesday 6th February
 
Chainbridge Wood NR - Five Goldcrest, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker and 1 Mistle Thrush. Bellmoor Lake - Single JACK SNIPE (MWa) briefly on edge of main island at 13.15pm, also here 34 Snipe, 1 Grey Heron and 1 Jay. Chainbridge NR Scrape (East) - Up to 12 Shelduck noted here today. (M.Warne)

Tuesday 5th February
 
Clayworth Common - Up to 34 Whooper Swans noted today plus Barn Owl. Neatholme Pit - Single imm/female LONG-TAILED DUCK (IC) still present. Lound Village - Two BRAMBLING (MV) at feeders with 2 Siskin and 4 Redpoll. Tiln North (Restoration Area) - c300 Starlings, 50 Skylark, 30 Fieldfare and 3 Goldeneye. Neatholme Fen - Single imm/female LONG-TAILED DUCK (VT,RT) still present this morning plus 8 Goldeneye. Cross Lane Marsh - Single Little Egret present here today. Chainbridge Pit - Single Barn Owl hunting eastern shoreline. Bellmoor Lake - Up to 30 Snipe on main island today. Tiln North (Restoration Area) - Single Buzzard but no sign of any Short-eared Owls still.  (V.Theaker, R.Theaker, D.Mannifield)

Saturday 2nd February
 
Neatholme Pit - Single immature/female LONG-TAILED DUCK (SD) still present today plus a WATER RAIL (ASh) calling from small island opposite viewing mound and 1 Oystercatcher over. Parish Park - 10+ Red-crested Pochard, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Pied Wagtail, several Goldcrests, 1 Coal Tit calling, 1 Treecreeper and a male Kestrel. Lound Sewage Works - Both the 'pale looking' probable 'Siberian' Chiffchaff Phylloscopus c. tristis (though still not heard calling) and the 'Common' Chiffchaff were both together showing extremely well this morning in trees on southern edge of the Sewage Works, also here 1 male Blackcap with tit flock briefly (JD,CD), 1 female MERLIN (GH et al) low over plantation, c20 Goldcrest, 30+ Long-tailed Tit, 1 Coal Tit, 1 Grey Wagtail, 2 Pied Wagtail, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker and c20 Redwings. Wildgoose Farm - Two Tawny Owls in usual area. Walters Lane Pit - Two RUFF present with Lapwings. Chainbridge Lane - Single Coal Tit calling.
