Butterflies August 2017

The 2017 Year List stands at 23 Recorded Species. The Reserve List has 29 Recorded Species

Thursday 31st. A walk around the Bellmoor area of the reserve produced (6) Green-veined White, (16) Speckled Wood, (9) Red Admiral, (2) Peacock, a single Small Tortoiseshell and (6) Comma. (Martin Warne, Phil Cadman)

Monday 28th. There was a single Large White, (3) Green-veined White, singles of male and female Brimstone, (5) Speckled Wood, (2) Red Admiral and (5) Comma, that were all recorded around the Southern end of the Reserve. (Phil Cadman)

Sunday 27th. There were (8) Green-veined White, (11) Speckled Wood, and (7) Red Admiral around the Northern end of the Reserve. (Ian Hunt).

Thursday 24th. There were (2) Large White, (3) Green-veined White, (18) Speckled Wood, (3) Meadow Brown and (5) Red Admiral, that were recorded around the Northern side of the Reserve. (Ian Hunt)

Sunday 20th. There was a single Large White, (12) Speckled Wood, (3) Small Heath, (5) Meadow Brown, (4) Gatekeeper, (7) Red Admiral, (6) Small Tortoiseshell, (2) Brown Argus, and (10) Common Blue. That were all recorded around the Northern side of the reserve. (Pete Freeman, Ian Hunt, Phil Cadman)

Friday 18th. There were (2) Green-veined White, (13) Speckled Wood, a single Meadow Brown, (8) Red Admiral, with singles of Painted Lady, Small Tortoiseshell, Peacock, Comma and Common Blue, that were recorded around the Bellmoor area of the reserve. (Phil Cadman).

Thursday 17th. There were (2) Green-veined White, (4) Speckled Wood, and a single Meadow Brown, recorded around 'Neatholme Pit' and the 'Willows'. (Ian Hunt)

Sunday 13th. There was a single Large White, (11) Speckled Wood, a single Meadow Brown, (4) Gatekeeper, with singles of Peacock, and Small Tortoiseshell also noted were (5) Common Blue, all were recorded around the 'Parish Park' and 'Neatholme area. (Phil Cadman)

Friday 11th. There were (5) Green-veined White, (11) Speckled Wood, (5) Meadow Brown, (3) Gatekeeper, (5) Red Admiral, a single Painted Lady, (14) Peacock and (2) Common Blue, that were all noted around the 'Bellmoor Lake' and Bunker Wood' area. (Martin Warne, Phil Cadman).

Monday 7th. There was a single Large White, (5) Speckled Wood, (10) Meadow Brown, (5) Gatekeeper, (2) Comma, (2) Brown Argus and (8) Common Blue, that were recorded around the Northern side of the reserve (Pauline Bradford)

Sunday 6th. There was a single Large White, (4) Speckled Wood, (18) Meadow Brown, (18) Gatekeeper and (5) Common Blue, that were noted around 'Parish Park' and 'Linghurst Wood'. (Ian Hunt, Phil Cadman).

Friday 4th. There were (2) Small Skipper, (5) Green-veined White, (7) Speckled Wood, (9) Meadow Brown, (12) Gatekeeper, (4) Red Admiral, with singles of Peacock, Small Tortoiseshell, Comma and Common Blue, that were recorded around the reserve. (Ian Hunt)
