Butterflies Apr 2018

The 2018 Year List stands at 7 Recorded Species. The Reserve List has 28 Recorded Species

 

Thursday 26th. Week Four of the 2018 NWT Butterfly Transect recording was produced by Ian Hunt, there were six Orange Tip, with singles of Peacock and Comma, that were all recorded in the 'Chainbridge Wood NR' Transect. Whilst six more Orange Tip and a single Speckled Wood, were noted around the reserve. (Ian Hunt).

 

Monday 23rd. There were singles of Orange Tip and Green-veined White, that were recorded around the reserve. (Tony Tomlinson)

 

Sunday 22nd There were nine Orange Tip, two Small Tortoiseshell and singles of Brimstone and Peacock, that were recorded around the reserve. (Ian Hunt, Pete Freeman)

 

Saturday 21st.  A single Speckled Wood, that was noted around 'Neatholme Scrape' was the first record of 2018. (Pete Freeman)

 

Thursday 19th. There were singles of Orange Tip and Green-veined White, five Brimstone, six Peacock and three Small Tortoiseshell, around the Reserve. (Ian Hunt).

 

Wednesday 18th. Week three of the 2018 NWT Butterfly Transect recording produced singles of two Orange Tip (first Reserve record of 2018), and two Brimstone, a single Comma and three Peacock, in 'Chainbridge Wood NR'. Unfortunately, neither Alan's Meadow or the Education Meadow (Bellmoor Lake) produced a Butterfly. There were two Peacock, and a single Comma, that were recorded around the reserve. (P. Monday 16th There were just two Brimstone and two Peacock, that were recorded around the reserve. (P. Cadman, Ian Hunt)

 

Saturday 14th. Phil Cadman and Ian Hunt conducted Week two of the 2018 NWT Butterfly Transect recording, there were singles of Brimstone and Small Tortoiseshell, on Alan's Meadow, there were singles of Brimstone, Small Tortoiseshell and Peacock, in the 'Chainbridge Wood NR', nothing was recorded in the Education Meadow (Bellmoor Lake). There were (2) Peacock, and a single Small Tortoiseshell, that were noted around the reserve. (P. Cadman, Ian Hunt)

 

Thursday 5th. Phil Cadman and Ian Hunt conducted the first NWT Butterfly Transect recording of 2018 when a single Brimstone was recorded on Alan's Meadow, then singles of Brimstone and Small Tortoiseshell (first Reserve record of 2018), were noted on the 'Chainbridge Wood NR' transect. There were no Butterfly sightings on the Education Meadow (Bellmoor Lake) Transect.

Also recorded on the reserve were (3) Brimstone, (3) Peacock, and (4) Small Tortoiseshell. (Phil Cadman, Ian Hunt, Tony Tomlinson, Vic Giles, Ken Wilson)
