Dragonflies August 2017

The 2017 Year List has 15 Recorded Species. The LBC/IVNR List has 19 Recorded Species

Thursday 31st. A walk around the Bellmoor area of the reserve produced (4) Migrant Hawker, a single Southern Hawker which was a 2017 Reserve addition and (10) Common Darter. (Martin Warne, Phil Cadman)

Monday 28th. There were singles of Brown Hawker and Migrant Hawker, with (9) Common Darter that were all recorded around the Southern end of the reserve. (Phil Cadman)

Sunday 27th. There were (3) Banded Demoiselle, (10) Common Blue Damselfly, (2) Brown Hawker, and (4) Common Darter that were all recorded around the Northern side of the Reserve. (Ian Hunt)

Thursday 24th. There were (2) Migrant Hawker, (3) Brown Hawker and (13) Common Darter that were recorded around the Northern side of the Reserve. (Ian Hunt)

Sunday 20th. There were (2) Emperor Dragonfly, (c45) Common Blue Damselfly, (2) Migrant Hawker, (4) Brown Hawker and (7) Common Darter that were recorded around the 'Parish Park' 'Linghurst Wood' area. (Phil Cadman, Ian Hunt)

Friday 18th. There were (3) Common Blue Damselfly, (4) Brown Hawker, a single female Emperor Dragonfly and (5) Common Darter that were recorded around the Bellmoor area of the Reserve. (Phil Cadman)

Sunday 13th. There was a single Emerald Damselfly, which was a reserve year addition, (3) Common Blue Damselfly, a single Migrant Hawker, (3) Brown Hawker and (12) Common Darter, that were recorded around the 'Parish Park' and 'Neatholme Lane' areas. (Phil Cadman)

Friday 11th. There were (2) Banded Demoiselle, (7) Common Blue Damselfly, (2) Brown Hawker and (4) Common Darter, that were recorded around the 'Bellmoor Lake' and 'Bunker Wood' area. (Martin Warne, Phil Cadman)

Monday 7th. There were (14) Common Blue Damselfly, (4) Blue-tailed Damselfly, a single Emperor Dragonfly and (6) Common Darter that were recorded around the Northern side of the reserve. (Pauline Bradford)

Sunday 6th. There was an estimated number of (85) Common Blue Damselfly, with singles of Blue-tailed Damselfly, Brown Hawker, and Migrant Hawker, that were all noted around 'Parish Park' and 'Linghurst Wood'. (Phil Cadman, Ian Hunt)

Friday 4th. There were (7) Banded Demoiselle, (15) Common Blue Damselfly, (2) Brown Hawker and (5) Common Darter, that were recorded around the reserve. (Ian Hunt)
