Dragonflies June 2017

The 2017 Year List has 11 Recorded Species. The LBC/IVNR List has 19 Recorded Species

Monday 26th. The weather was fine and dry, there were scattered clouds, the temperature was around 19°C. There were a total of (3) Banded Demoiselle, (195) Common Blue Damselfly, (35) Blue-tailed Damselfly, (3) Brown Hawker which was a Year 2017 addition, (3) Black-tailed Skimmer, and a single Common Darter that was also a which was a Year 2017 addition, they were all recorded around the reserve, (Phil Cadman, Ian Hunt)

Sunday 25th. The weather was a little cloudy and windy from the West, the temperature was around 19°C. There were singles of a male Banded Demoiselle, Large Red Damselfly, an estimated number of (275) Common Blue Damselfly, (15) Blue-tailed Damselfly, (3) Red-eyed Damselfly, (2) male Black-tailed Skimmer and a single Emperor Dragonfly, (which was a reserve 2017 addition), that were noted around the reserve. Monday 19th. The weather was absolutely superb with clear skies sunshine with a maximum temperature of 30°C. There were (c45) Common Blue Damselfly and a single Four-spotted Chaser that were noted around 'Parish Park'. (Ian Hunt)

Thursday 15th. The weather was sunny with a few scattered clouds, the maximum temperature was around 22°C. A walk around 'Parish Park' produced, (5) Red-eyed Damselfly, an estimated (70) Common Blue Damselfly, (10) Blue-tailed Damselfly, (3) Four-spotted Chaser, with singles of Hairy Dragonfly and the first 2017 Reserve sighting of the Black-tailed Skimmer.
