Thursday 22nd February - Annual General Meeting. Meeting as usual at The Rural Learning Centre for a 7:30pm start. An Agenda for this meeting will be presented to members in the forthcoming February E-newsletter. Members Only. No charge.
Saturday 24th February - Winter walk at Rufford Country Park. Meet at the abbey end main car park at 7:00am. Relaxed walk which should last 3 hours. Leader for the walk will be Neil Braund. Open to LBC members and non-members. No Charge but their Car Park fee is £3 for the day. Toilet facilities are available at both the Abbey and Mill ends of the park.
Wednesday 14th March - Bats of Nottinghamshire by Michael Walker. Michael comes to us to share his wealth of knowledge on Nottinghamshire's Bats. Michael is the NWT Mammal Recorder for the county, has published many key papers on bats and other wildlife and is also a member of various local bat groups. Meeting as usual at The Rural Learning Centre for a 7:30pm start. Open to all. £2 for LBC members, £3 for non-members.
Saturday 17th March - Spring walk at Idle Valley NR. A walk from Chainbridge Lane Viewpoint around to the more popular northern half of the reserve returning via the riverbank path to Chainbridge Lane. Starting at 8:00am. Nothing to strenuous and the walk should last 3-4 hours. Leader for the walk will be Gary Hobson. Note. No toilet facilities are available other than those at the Rural Learning Centre at Bellmoor. Open to LBC members and non-members. No charge.
Sunday 8th April - Car trip to Saltholme RSPB Reserve. A return trip to Cleveland to this still fairly new reserve. Leaders for this walk will be Neil Braund & Paul Hobson. Times and further details TBC. Click here for reserve info from the RSPB website. Open to LBC members and non-members. No charge but non-RSPB members will have to pay car parking charges.
Sunday 29th April - Spring walk at Padley Gorge. A return trip to this lovely part of Derbyshire to look for the speciality birds including Redstart, Dipper and Wood Warbler found here in Yarncliff Wood. Leader for this walk will be Neil Braund. Toilet facilities are available at Grindleford Cafe (for patrons) and at the Longshaw Estate Visitor Centre nearby. Meet times and further details about the walk TBC. Open to LBC members and non-members. No charge but local parking charges are payable.
