The Daneshill Lakes NR Year List stands at 0 Recorded Species. The Daneshill Lakes Reserve List has 61 Recorded Species.

Our Thanks to Trevor and Dylis Pendleton of Eakringbirds.com, Dave Budworth the Nott's Micro County Recorder and to Dr Sheila Wright the Nott's Macro County Recorder, who are responsible for the identification/verification of all the new Lound/IVNR Moth Species.

Friday 13th. The 'Lound Moth Group' conducted it's second 'Moth Trapping Session' of 2018, however, just two members were present, Phil Cadman and Ian Hunt, Despite the recent wet conditions it was agreed to set up the two Robinson 125W Moth Traps on the footpath towards the West side of 'Bellmoor Lake'. We trapped from 20:15-22:30, the weather was dry with a slight breeze, the temperature ranged from 9°C to 10°C. There was a total of 86 Moths that were trapped, of 18 different Species, of which all 11 were LBC/IVNR-Year Addition(s) and are highlighted in Green.

Friday 6th. The 'Lound Moth Group' conducted it's first 'Moth Trapping Session' of 2018 when four members were present, Phil Cadman, Ian Hunt, Martin Warne and Arthur Rogerson. Due to the recent wet conditions it was agreed to set up the two Robinson 125W Moth Traps either side off the 'IVNR Visitors Centre'. We trapped from 20:00-22:00, the weather was dry with a slight breeze, the temperature ranged from 9°C to 12°C.There was a total of 27 Moths that were trapped, of 7 different Species, of which all 7 were LBC/IVNR-Year Addition(s) and are highlighted in Green. The highlight of the evening was the first 73.0690 Xylocampa areola (Early Grey), trapped since 2012.

Tim Sexton (Attenborough NWT Reserve Manager) recorded the first 2018 Reserve record of 70.0950 Chloroclysta siterata (Red-green Carpet), which was found roosting on the wall of the 'Visitors Centre'. Which incidentally was only the second ever Spring Record. All other records have been September/October/November.
