Bellmoor Lake -  3rd calendar year Yellow-legged Gull this afternoon, also 3 Herring Gull and single Common Gull again present. Also 2 Common Buzzard, 6 drake Red-crested Pochard and Egyptian Goose. Single Little Egret roosting this morning.
Chainbridge NR Scrape (East) - single Yellow-legged Gull, Hobby flew over the north end, also 3 Dunlin & 4 Little Egret.
Tiln North - sub-adult female Marsh Harrier flew south.
Neatholme Scrape - single Common Sandpiper & single Lesser Whitethroat.

Bellmoor Lake - 2 CASPIAN GULLS (PH) present (2nd calendar year bird very briefly at 3.30pm before the gulls were flushed, also 3rd/4th calendar year bird again present from 4.15pm). Single 3rd calendar year Yellow-legged Gull also present.
Chainbridge NR Scrape (East) - single moulting adult Sanderling 4.00pm (DHo), also 11 Redshank at 6pm.
Clayworth Common - single Hobby at 10.50am.

Bellmoor Lake -  3rd/4th calendar year CASPIAN GULL (PH,EH) from 3.30 till 4.15pm, also 3 Yellow-legged Gulls, single first-summer Common Gull and 7 Red-crested Pochard.
Neatholme Pit - 8 Red-crested Pochard feeding at the north end.

Wednesday 12th July
 
The Willows (Clayworth Copse) - a stunning male RED-BACKED SHRIKE was found by Martin McCallum at 3.45pm and was still present at 4.15pm. Fortunately, the bird remained for the rest of the evening so that many Lound listers could add it to their patch life list. This comprises the 2nd record in the recording area after a brief male was found close to Cross Lane in the nineties. 2 Quail were calling from nearby fields. Single Barn Owl hunting at 8.00pm.

Neatholme Lane - A Swift was found stranded on the lane by Neatholme Fen this evening and was taken to a local Lound resident for rest and a chance to dry out overnight. UPDATE: The following day after plenty of rest and drying out the bird flew off strongly. Thanks to Mike & Larisa Vickers for taking it into care.

Sunday 7th May - BIG BIRD DAY & NWT Dawn Chorus Event.
 
Total bird species seen collectively was a record breaking 111 with both Start Davenport & Gary Hobson both getting 103 which was also a personal record. Highlights below and a full list will be put on home page later.

Neatholme Fen - Two Black Tern early morning but flew south at 7:35am, 1 Hobby, 8+ Avocet, 16+ Common Tern, 20+ Great Crested Grebe, 3 (including 2 male) Wigeon, 1 Egyptian Goose, 1 Common Sandpiper, 2 Pochard, 3 Little Ringed Plover, 1 Greenshank, 2 Oystercatcher, 1 Kingfisher and 2 Little Egret.

Chainbridge NR Scrape (East) - Single Grey Plover present all day, 3 Redshank, 1 Dunlin, 1 Whimbrel flew north mid afternoon, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Arctic Tern and 2 Bar-tailed Godwit at dawn, 3+ Teal, 1 Hobby south, 1 'cream-crowned' Marsh Harrier high over viewing screen then drifted slowly east at around midday, 1 Turnstone from 2:10pm, 1 partial summer Spotted Redshank briefly at 2:10pm but soon disappeared, 1 Reed Bunting, 1 Lesser Whitethroat and 1 Wood Sandpiper from 7:00pm. 
Chainbridge Wood NR - Single Treecreeper, 1 Kingfisher flew past here north along river, 2 Buzzard over.
Clayworth Common - Single Wheatear, 5+ Skylark and 2 Yellow Wagtail off track just west of Hayton/Clayworth road, 2 Kestrel, 1 Yellow Wagtail flew north and 1 Buzzard.
Tiln North - Three Ringed Plover, 2 Wheatear reported, several Skylark, 1 male Sparrowhawk, 4+ Oystercatcher, 3 Redshank, 2 Little Grebe, 2 Snipe, 4 Grey Partridge, 1 Short-eared Owl at dusk, 10+ Meadow Pipit, 2+ Cuckoo getting the attention from local Meadow Pipits.

First Wheatear and Black-tailed Godwit records this spring. 
 
Clayworth Common - In a small set aside field just north of Chainbridge Lane and along the Clayworth to Hayton road there were 50+ Fieldfare, 2 Redwing, 20+ Chaffinch, 5+ Reed Bunting, 2 Yellowhammer, 3 Pied Wagtail, 10+ Linnet and 20+ Starlings feeding with 11 Golden Plover on a nearby field with Lapwings. Of note there is also about 15 Muscovey Ducks being kept at the small holding next to Chainbridge Lane.
Chainbridge Wood NR - Single Song Thrush flew from here. 
Chainbridge NR Scrape (East) - Single winter plumage Black-tailed Godwit at 8:55am but soon departed, single Curlew plus the male Pintail, 6 Dunlin and 2 Redshank. 
Tiln North - Single male Wheatear present this morning from 10:30am until 11:45am at least plus 200+ Wigeon, 3 Skylark, 2 Ringed Plover, 4 Ruff and 2 Oystercatcher.
Bellmoor Lake - The Wood Duck has apparently been reported (by a woman with a scope who spoke to the centre staff?) as seen this morning but no sign this afternoon plus a single Curlew flew over.
