Chainbridge Pit - Single first-summer male Common Scoter (158) present here from 14:55pm until at least 16:10pm. River Idle (Chainbridge) - Single Kingfisher noted. Tiln North (Restoration Area) - Two Redshank, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 1 Ringed Plover, 3 Common Tern, several Lapwing chicks, pair of Oystercatcher with chicks, 1 male Kestrel, 1 Meadow Pipit, 3 Reed Buntings. Clayworth Common (Conservation Lake) - Single female Sparrowhawk. Chainbridge NR Scrape (East) - Two male Teal with Gadwall. Walters Lane Pit - Up to 8 Stock Dove feeding on grass by pit. Lound (Horse Paddocks) - Two Mistle Thrush. Wildgoose Farm - Two Buzzard. Neatholme Fen - A total of 9 Ringed Plover, 1 Little Ringed Plover, 3 Red-crested Pochard, 9 Shelduck, 2 Buzzard perched, 1 Common Tern, 1 Jay, 1 Cuckoo calling and a male Bullfinch. Neatholme Pit - Single Green Woodpecker. The Willows - Single Buzzard over. Clayworth Common (Conservation Lake) - Single Redshank and Yellow Wagtail. Neatholme Fen - Up to 12 Ringed Plover, 1 Black-tailed Godwit still, 1 Ruff, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 1 Buzzard and 1 calling Turtle Dove. Chainbridge Pit - Two Common Tern plus calling Turtle Dove. Tiln North (Restoration Area) - Pair of Ringed Plover with 4 large young, 2 Little Ringed Plover, pair of Redshank with 3 young, 2 Common Tern and 1 Black-tailed Godwit north.

Neatholme Fen - Single Black-tailed Godwit earlier today. Chainbridge Lane - Pair of Bullfinch near Chainbridge Wood. Chainbridge Scrape - Single Turtle Dove in dead tree on North side plus Green Woodpecker in same tree later. Tiln North (Restoration Area) - The pair of Ringed Plover were seen attempting to copulate but getting attention from a Little Ringed Plover defending its nest. Up to 6 Turtle Dove noted today from five locations. Not sure if these are newly arrived birds.

Neatholme Fen - Single Sanderling present from 6.25am and remained throughout the day with 1 Grey Plover still, 1 Common Sandpiper, 12 to 24 Ringed Plover, 9 to 14 Dunlin, 1 Kingfisher, 1 White Wagtail, 2 Red-crested Pochard, 2 Common Tern and 1 Little Egret. Tiln North (Restoration Area) - No sign of yesterday's Temminck's Stint but 2 Whimbrel were still on main island, 3 Dunlin, 1 Curlew flying over, 1 Ringed Plover, 1 Yellow Wagtail, 1 Cuckoo, a Lapwing pair with 2 chicks, 6 Meadow Pipit and 6 Linnet. Tiln North (Restoration Area) - Single WHINCHAT (IC) (153) noted on eastern side of scrape at 11:00am and again at 5:30pm plus single TEMMINCK'S STINT (ASh et al) (154) flew in from north at 5:20pm circled several times before landing and was present to 18:45pm at least. Also here, 3 Whimbrel, 4 Dunlin, 2 Curlew, 2 Ringed Plover, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 2 Red-crested Pochard, 1 'feral' Pink-footed Goose, 2 Egyptian Geese, 1 Peregrine over heading towards Tiln and 1 Cuckoo. Neatholme Fen - Up to 9 Ringed Plover and 3 Dunlin at 8:00pm plus 3 summer plumage Bar-tailed Godwit (155) present at 7:24pm. A large influx of Swift today and the Grey Plover remained on Neatholme Fen.

Thursday 1st May
Two Turtle Dove and a small number of Swifts have arrived with another wave of hirundines. Wader passage has seemingly got underway again. No further sign of yesterday's Red-breasted Merganser though a bird in South Yorkshire at Edderthorpe Flash over past two days seems to tie in nicely with our bird?
Tiln North (Restoration Area) - Two newly arrived Turtle Dove flew west over here and Chainbridge Pit at 19:45pm this evening. Neatholme Scrape - The male Mandarin Duck was noted again today feeding on the eastern shore at 10:30am and 11:15am plus a female Mandarin Duck was seen separately. Also here, 2 Swift, 2 Common Tern, 2 Egyptian Geese and 1 Buzzard. Neatholme Lane - Single Jay, 2 Garden Warbler, 1 Great Spotted and 3 Green Woodpecker. Neatholme Fen - Single adult summer Little Gull (with pink flush) here from 10:10am, 3 Wigeon, 3 Common Tern, 1 Swift and singles of Grey Plover and Greenshank with 3 Dunlin at 18:25pm this evening. Cross Lane Fishery - Single Green Woodpecker. Water Ski Pit - Single Cuckoo. The Willows (Clayworth Copse) - Single Cuckoo, Yellow Wagtail and Lesser Whitethroat. Clayworth Common (Conservation Lake) - Two Oystercatcher. Chainbridge Pit - Single Grasshopper Warbler again and female Cuckoo. Chainbridge Lane - Single Lesser Whitethroat again near gap in hedgerow. Walters Lane Pit - Single Ruff still with 10 Shelduck. Bellmoor Lake - Up to 8 Swift here today.
