The 2018 Year List stands at 25 Recorded Species. The Reserve List has 29 Recorded Species

 

Report up to Monday, 01 October 2018

 

Friday 28th. There were (6) Large White, (18) Speckled Wood, (5) Red Admiral, a single Peacock, (5) Comma and (5) Small Copper, that were recorded around the reserve. (Pete Freeman, Tony Tomlinson, Ken Wilson).

 

Wednesday 26th. The Final week Twenty six of the 2018 NWT Butterfly Transect Monitoring produced (2) Small White, (2) Speckled Wood, (6) Red Admiral, (2) Peacock, (4) Comma and a single Small Copper in the 'Chainbridge Wood NR'. Alan's Meadow produced a single Large White, (2) Speckled Wood, a single Small Heath and (2) Small Copper. Unfortunately, and not surprisingly the Education Meadow (Bellmoor Lake) produced nothing at all.

Also noted around the reserve were (2) Speckled Wood, with singles of Small White, Brimstone and Red Admiral. (Phil Cadman, Ian Hunt)

 

Monday 24th. There was at total of (6) Large White, (20) Speckled Wood, (5) Small Tortoiseshell and a single Small Copper, that were recorded around the reserve. (Tony Tomlinson)

 

Tuesday 18th. Week Twenty Five of the 2018 NWT Butterfly Transect Monitoring produced singles of Speckled Wood and Comma, with (5) Red Admiral, in the 'Chainbridge Wood NR' transect. Alan's Meadow produced (3) Large White, (3) Small White, (2) Speckled Wood, (3) Small Copper and (2) male Common Blue. The Final Transect of the day was the Education Meadow (Bellmoor Lake) unfortunately, there were no Butterflies at all that were recorded. Also noted around the reserve was a single Small White and (5) Speckled Wood. (Phil Cadman, Ian Hunt)

 

Monday 17th. There were (4) Large White, (18) Speckled Wood, (4) Red Admiral, singles of Painted Lady, and Peacock, with (2) Comma, that were recorded around the Northern side of the Reserve. (Phil Cadman, Ian Hunt)

Thursday 13th. Week Twenty four of the 2018 NWT Butterfly Transect Monitoring produced a total of (3) Large White, a single Small White, (6) Red Admiral, a single Painted Lady and (12) Comma, the majority of which were noted nectaring on the remaining Buddleia flowers in 'Chainbridge Wood NR'. Alan's Meadow produced (4) Large White, a single Small White, (4) Small Copper, and (6) male Common Blue. There were just (3) Large White, that were recorded in the Education Meadow (Bellmoor Lake), whilst just a single Large White and (5) Speckled Wood, were noted around the reserve. Sunday 9th. There were just (7) Speckled Wood and a single Large White, that were recorded on a walk around the Northern end of the reserve. (Phil Cadman, Ian Hunt)

Sunday 2nd Week Twenty Three of the 2018 NWT Butterfly Transect Monitoring produced (8) Large White, (2), Small White, (4) Speckled Wood, (3) Red Admiral, a single Small Tortoiseshell and (6) Comma, in the 'Chainbridge Wood NR' transect. Alan's Meadow produced (7) Large White, a single Speckled Wood, (2) Meadow Brown, (3) Small Copper, (2) Brown Argus and (9) Common Blue eight of which were male. The final Transect was the Education Meadow (Bellmoor Lake) where just a single Large White, was recorded. Also noted around the reserve were (3) Large White, (17) Speckled Wood, singles of Small Copper, Common Blue and Holly Blue and (2) Brown Argus, that were recorded. (Phil Cadman, Ian Hunt)
