Bellmoor Ponds - A moth trapping session here this evening produced a couple of exciting moths including the exotic sounding 2247 Dichonia aprilina MERVEILLE DU JOUR (see images below) which is a first site record and 2240 Lithophane leautieri BLAIR'S SHOULDER-KNOT not seen on site since 1995. Neatholme Lane - Single GRASS SNAKE observed sunning on top of Bramble. (A.Bradford, P.Bradford).

Bellmoor (Rural Learning Centre) - Single GRASS SNAKE observed on road between gates at at entrance. (A.Bell) Neatholme Scrape - Two ROE DEER still present today. (K.Wilson) Neatholme Fen - Single BANK VOLE noted here today. (A.Bradford, P.Bradford)

Saturday 3rd August

Chainbridge Wood NR - No sign of Silver-washed Fritillary up until midday on Buddleia but there were c30 Peacock, c10 Comma, c15 Large White, a few Red Admirals and many Meadow Browns in grassland nearby. Tuesday 9th July

Neatholme Fen - Single 2412 Delcote uncula Silver Hook moth was found by Phil Cadman, Martin Warne and Des Roberts on the West edge of the fen. A 'probable' new addition to the Nottinghamshire Moth List was a 902 Chrysoclista lathamella Orange-blotch Cosmet found and photographed by Pauline Bradford today. See image below. Its apparently already been accepted by Dave Budworth, the county Moth Recorder. (P.Bradford, A.Bradford)
